Kerang Christian College is delighted to announce that the College will receive a $350,000 grant as part of the 2012 Australian Government Capital Grants Program. The College will be constructing a Visual Arts Wing, which will incorporate a Primary and Secondary School art room, textiles, computer lab, a general purpose classroom, offices and storage rooms.
As we continue to expand into Secondary School, we need to provide modern facilities to best meet the needs of 21st century learners. This expansion will enable the College to accommodate for Visual Arts from Prep to Year 12. The new specialist art room will ensure students have rich learning experiences in the visual arts from a young age.
The Visual Arts Wing will connect the existing Primary and Secondary School buildings at Kerang Christian College.
The specialist computer room will assist the College in implementing a challenging curriculum in the visual arts as the College expands further into Secondary School. Furthermore, the computer lab will be a valuable resource for ICT classes.
We are delighted to have received the BGA grant and believe that the upgrade of our visual arts infrastructure will enhance the College’s ability to provide the quality Christian education on which we pride ourselves.
Building Plans for the Visual Arts Wing are currently being finalised prior to construction beginning at the end of 2012.
Kerang Christian College has gone through two expansions since the opening of the Wyndham Street campus in 1995. In 2010, the Primary School building was extended with the addition of two classrooms and in the same year the College opened the Secondary School building, which includes three classrooms, food technology facilities, offices and the school library.
