The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) is a global community dedicated to excellence in learning, teaching and leading. The association provides expert and ­innovative solutions in professional development, capacity building and educational leadership essential to the way educators learn, teach and lead.


The Australian Council for Educational Leaders is a peak association for educational leaders. The association was founded in 1973. ACEL members are provided with an opportunity to strengthen and develop leadership capabilities, providing members with a range of resources and opportunities. ACEL’s in-house journals provide a rich source of the most relevant and discussed issues form not only the Australian education sector, but the latest theories from across the globe.

Australian Curriculum

The Australian Curriculum sets consistent national standards to improve learning outcomes for all young Australians. It sets out, through content descriptions and achievement standards, what students should be taught and achieve, as they progress through school.


The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) is an independent statutory authority that aims to improve the learning of all young Australians through world-class school curriculum, assessment and reporting. ACARA is responsible for national curriculum from Kindergarten to Year 12 in specified learning areas, the national assessment program aligned to the national curriculum and the national data collection and reporting program.


The Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) provides national leadership for the Australia, State and Territory Governments in promoting excellence in the profession of teaching and school leadership.  AITSL’s role includes: defining and managing standards for teachers and principals, leading and influencing improvement in teaching and school leadership and supporting and recognising high quality professional practice.


Christian Schools Australia (CSA) is a peak group serving the diverse needs of a learge network of independent Christian Schools. CSA provides professional services, development, direct assistance, information and advice to its members. CSA is a voice for Christian schools, advocating for their needs in the national debate.


Christian Schools Sports Network (Vic) (CSSN)has been established by the Victorian State Council of Christian Schools Australia (CSA) in 2008 as a service to members of CSA and other Christian schools in Victoria. The aim of the Christian Schools Sport Network (CSSN) is to promote the ideals of Christian education among students attending participating schools, encouraging mutual respect and acceptance through the provision of sporting activities.


Cybersmart is a national cybersafety and cybersecurity education program managed by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), as part of the Australian Government's commitment to cybersafety. The program is specifically designed to meet the needs of its target audiences of children, young people, parents, teachers and library staff.


Edmodo is the world’s largest K-12 social learning community where teachers, students and parents can connect safely and securely. Edmodo helps connects all learners with the people and resources they need to teach their full potential.


Independent Schools Victoria (ISV) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to Independent education. They are committed to promoting, developing and protecting the autonomy of Member schools. ISV are an association providing professional services rather than an authority managing members.

My School

The My School website is updated with school information each year. The site enables users to search the profiles of almost 10,000 Australian schools. Users can quickly locate statistical and contextual information about schools in the community and compare them with statistically similar schools across the country.


On the National Assessment Program (NAP) website is information about the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) and NAP sample assessments. There is also information on the future delivery of NAPLAN online.


Scootle was designed and developed for pre-service and existing teachers to access and use the national digital resources. Scootle is a content discovery portal containing more than 22,000 teaching resources. It includes features that support teachers to organise digital content and lessons. Teachers in all states and territories have access to Scootle, Scootle Community and Language Learning Space.


The VCAA is an independent statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. The mission of the VCAA is to provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting that enables individual lifelong learning. The VCAA also provides high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students and learners by developing and implementing the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE).  The VCAA website contains a range of valuable resources, including:

The Victorian Institute of Teaching is a statutory authority for the regulation of the teaching profession in Victoria. It registers teachers working in Victorian government, Catholic and independent schools.  The Victorian Institute of Teaching is committed to being environmentally responsible and has developed an online facility for teachers to use to manage their registration processes. Registered teachers have access to the forms required to manage their registration via their MyVIT account.
